استقبلت الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور يوم الثلاثاء الموافق 9 أيلول 2025 وفدًا من مؤسسة التعليم الماليزي العالمي (EMGS) وذلك استجابةً للدعوة الرسمية التي وجهتها الملحقية في وقت سابق للتباحث حول عدد من القضايا الأكاديمية والإدارية التي تخص الطلبة العراقيين الدارسين في الجامعات الماليزية.

ترأس اللقاء السيد الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور عبد الجليل محمد مجيد الملحق الثقافي العراقي، بحضور عدد من موظفي الملحقية، فيما مثل الجانب الماليزي وفد من مسؤولي مؤسسة التعليم الماليزي العالمي.

وخلال الاجتماع، جرى استعراض مجموعة من المواضيع ذات الاهتمام المشترك، من أبرزها مسألة تمديد الإقامة الدراسية للطلبة العراقيين أسوة بالطلبة من باقي الدول، فضلًا عن مناقشة آليات تسهيل الحصول على الفيزا والإجراءات اللاحقة لإتمام الدراسة. كما تطرق الجانبان إلى بحث إمكانية تنظيم معارض جامعية وفعاليات ثقافية مشتركة بين العراق وماليزيا لتعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والثقافي.

وأكد الطرفان حرصهما على استمرار التنسيق المشترك بما يخدم المسيرة العلمية للطلبة العراقيين ويعزز أواصر التعاون بين البلدين.

On Tuesday, 9 September 2025, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur received a delegation from Education Malaysia Global Services (EMGS) in response to the official invitation extended earlier by the Attaché to discuss several academic and administrative matters concerning Iraqi students studying in Malaysian universities.

The meeting was chaired by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abduljaleel Mohammed Majeed, the Iraqi Cultural Counselor, with the participation of several staff members of the Attaché, while the Malaysian side was represented by officials from EMGS.

During the discussions, both parties reviewed a number of key topics, most notably the issue of extending student visa validity for Iraqi students in line with practices applied to students from other countries, in addition to addressing visa application procedures and post-study facilitation. The two sides also explored opportunities to organize joint university exhibitions and cultural events in Iraq and Malaysia to further strengthen academic and cultural collaboration.

Both sides affirmed their commitment to maintaining close coordination in support of the Iraqi students’ academic journey and to enhancing educational and cultural ties between the two nations.
