Iraqi University Delegation Visits the University of Malaya with Strong Support from the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur

في إطار توجهها الاستراتيجي نحو توسيع شراكاتها الأكاديمية الدولية وتعزيز حضورها العلمي، أجرى وفد الجامعة

العراقية برئاسة المساعد العلمي الأستاذ الدكتور خميس عواد زيدان زيارة رسمية إلى جامعة ملايا، إحدى أعرق الجامعات الماليزية وأكثرها تصنيفًا وتميّزًا على المستويين الإقليمي والدولي

وناقش الجانبان خلال الزيارة سبل تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي، مع تركيز خاص على التخصصات الإنسانية والاجتماعية، حيث شملت محاور التعاون الإشراف المشترك على طلبة الدراسات العليا، ولا سيما طلبة الدكتوراه، وإتاحة فرص الابتعاث لفترات بحثية قصيرة تسهم في تطوير المشاريع البحثية وتعزيز النشر العلمي الرصين، إضافة إلى تشكيل مجاميع بحثية مشتركة بين باحثي الجامعتين في مجالات ذات اهتمام مشترك.

كما استعرض وفد الجامعة العراقية الجهود المؤسسية المبذولة في تفعيل برامج التبادل الأكاديمي، وتطوير آليات التعاون بما ينسجم مع المعايير الدولية، ويسهم في الارتقاء بمهارات الطلبة والملاكات التدريسية، وتعزيز البيئة البحثية المشتركة.

وأكد الوفد أن هذا الحراك الأكاديمي يأتي في سياق الدور الحيوي والمتقدم الذي تؤديه الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور، والتي تمثل ركيزة أساسية في دعم انفتاح الجامعات العراقية على نظيراتها العالمية، وبناء شراكات علمية مستدامة، وتهيئة بيئة مؤسسية داعمة للتعاون البحثي والتعليمي الدولي

As part of its strategic orientation toward expanding international academic partnerships and strengthening its scientific presence, a delegation from Al-Iraqia University, headed by the Assistant President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Khamis Awad Zaidan, paid an official visit to the University of Malaya, one of Malaysia’s most prestigious and highly ranked universities at both the regional and international levels.

During the visit, both sides discussed ways to enhance academic and research cooperation, with particular emphasis on the humanities and social sciences. Areas of collaboration included joint supervision of postgraduate students—especially PhD candidates—short-term research fellowships aimed at advancing research projects and strengthening high-quality academic publications, as well as the formation of joint specialized research groups between scholars from both universities.

The delegation also highlighted Al-Iraqia University’s institutional efforts in activating academic exchange programs and developing cooperation mechanisms in line with international standards, contributing to the advancement of students’ and faculty members’ academic and professional skills, and fostering a collaborative research environment.

The delegation emphasized that this academic engagement reflects the vital and advanced role played by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, which serves as a key pillar in supporting Iraqi universities’ international outreach, building sustainable scientific partnerships, and creating an enabling institutional environment for international academic and research collaboration.

This visit embodies Al-Iraqia University’s vision of enhancing its regional and international academic standing, elevating the quality of research and higher education outcomes, and aligning with the strategic directions of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research—underscoring the effectiveness of Iraqi academic diplomacy in advancing these goals.
