The Iraqi Cultural Attaché Office in Kuala Lumpur Explores Enhancing Academic Cooperation with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM)

في إطار جهود الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور لتعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والعلمي بين العراق وماليزيا، زار القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، يرافقه الملحق الثقافي الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور عبد الجليل محمد مجيد، مركز الدراسات الماليزية والدولية التابع لـلجامعة الوطنية الماليزية

وجرى خلال الزيارة لقاء مدير المركز الأستاذ الدكتور محمد قمر النظام عبد الله وعدد من الأكاديميين، حيث تم بحث آفاق التعاون الأكاديمي والعلمي المشترك بين الجامعة والجامعات العراقية، إلى جانب استعراض موجز لهيكل المركز ووحداته البحثية وإسهاماته العلمية في مجالات الدراسات الاستراتيجية والسياسات العامة

وأكد القائم بالأعمال المؤقت أهمية تعزيز الشراكات الجامعية بين البلدين، لما لها من أثر إيجابي في دعم العلاقات الثنائية وتبادل الخبرات الأكاديمية والبحثية. من جانبه، أشار الملحق الثقافي إلى المكانة المتقدمة التي تحتلها الجامعات الماليزية في التصنيفات العالمية، مؤكداً استعداد الملحقية الثقافية لتوسيع مجالات التعاون العلمي والأكاديمي بما يخدم المصالح المشتركة ويعزز فرص التبادل الأكاديمي والبحثي بين المؤسسات التعليمية في البلدين

As part of the efforts of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché Office in Kuala Lumpur to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia, the Chargé d’Affaires ad interim, Counsellor Ahmed Ghanem Abdul Jabbar, accompanied by the Cultural Attaché, Assistant Professor Dr. Abduljalil Mohammed Majeed, paid a visit to the Institute of Malaysian and International Studies (IKMAS) at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).

During the visit, they met with the Director of the Institute, Professor Dr. Mohammad Qamar Al-Nizam Abdullah, along with a number of academics. The meeting focused on exploring prospects for joint academic and scientific cooperation between UKM and Iraqi universities, and included a brief presentation on the institute’s organizational structure, research units, and scholarly contributions.

The Chargé d’Affaires ad interim emphasized the importance of strengthening university partnerships between the two countries, highlighting their positive impact on supporting bilateral relations and fostering academic exchange. In turn, the Cultural Attaché noted the advanced standing of Malaysian universities in global rankings and reaffirmed the readiness to expand scientific and academic cooperation in a manner that serves mutual interests and enhances collaboration between higher education institutions in both countries.
