استقبلت الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور يوم الخميس الموافق 8 أغسطس 2024، وفداً من منظمة الجامعات الآسيوي The Consortium of Asia-Pacific Education Universitie CAPEU برئاسة الدكتور سسكارين مونيام (Sasigaran Moneyam) وبمشاركة فريق عمل من مقر المنظمة الذي يتخذ من جامعة UPSI الماليزية مقراً لعا.
التقى السيد سسكارين مونيام بالسيدة المستشار الثقافي العراقي، الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور أحلام نعمة لفته، و الموظف الاداري الدكتور صلاح مهدي خليل. حيث تم خلال اللقاء استعراض أهداف المنظمة وأهم أعمالها، وتمت مناقشة رغبة المنظمة في توسيع قاعدة الجامعات والمؤسسات الراعية لتشمل الجامعات العراقية ووزارة التعليم العالي العراقية.
وأكد السيد سسكارين على أهمية انضمام الجامعات العراقية لمنظمة الجامعات الآسيوية، مشيراً إلى أن الانضمام سيوفر منصة للجامعات العراقية للتواصل مع الجامعات المشاركة الأخرى، كما سيوفر فرصاً لإقامة ورش تدريبية، ومنح بحثية، ونشاطات علمية وثقافية متنوعة.
وفي ختام اللقاء، تم الاتفاق على إرسال دعوات خاصة إلى الملحقية الثقافية ووزارة التعليم العالي العراقية بهذا الخصوص، حيث ستقوم الملحقية بإعداد تقرير خاص لتشجيع الجامعات العراقية على المشاركة في مثل هذه التجمعات الدولية للجامعات، خصوصاً في منطقة جنوب شرق آسيا.

On Thursday, August 8, 2024, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur received a delegation from the Confederation of Asian and Pacific Education Universities (CAPEU) led by Dr. Sasigaran Moneyam, accompanied by a working team from the organization’s headquarters located at UPSI University in Malaysia.
Dr. Sasigaran Moneyam met with the Iraqi Cultural Counselor, Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam N, Lafta, and Academic Advisor Dr. Salah Mahdi Khaleel. During the meeting, the delegation discussed the organization’s goals and main activities, expressing their desire to expand the network of sponsoring universities and institutions to include Iraqi universities and the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education.
Dr. Sasigaran emphasized the importance of Iraqi universities joining CAPEU, highlighting that membership would provide a platform for connecting with other participating universities, as well as opportunities for training workshops, research grants, and various scientific and cultural activities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was agreed that special invitations would be sent to the Iraqi Cultural Attaché and the Ministry of Higher Education regarding this matter. The attaché will also prepare a special report to encourage Iraqi universities to participate in such international university networks, particularly in Southeast Asia.
