The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur Receives the Vice President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University in the Presence of the Cultural Attaché
استقبلت سفارة جمهورية العراق في كوالالمبور، بتاريخ 8 كانون الأول 2025الأستاذ الدكتور أحمد غانم وداي، نائب رئيس جامعة الفرات الأوسط التقنية للشؤون العلمية، والوفد المرافق له، وذلك بحضور القائم بالأعمال المؤقت، المستشار أحمد غانم عبد الجبار، والملحق الثقافي العراقي في كوالالمبور الدكتور عبد الجليل محمد مجيد
وضمّ الوفد عددًا من القيادات الأكاديمية في الجامعة، شملوا أربعة عمداء معاهد تقنية ومديري قسمين، حيث جرى خلال اللقاء بحث آفاق التعاون الأكاديمي والعلمي بين الجامعات العراقية ونظيراتها الماليزية، مع التركيز على تبادل الخبرات البحثية، وتطوير البرامج العلمية، وتعزيز الشراكات الأكاديمية، بما يسهم في الارتقاء بمستوى التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي في العراق والانفتاح على التجارب الأكاديمية الدولية
وأكد القائم بالأعمال المؤقت استعداد السفارة، وبالتنسيق مع الملحقية الثقافية العراقية، لتقديم الدعم والتسهيلات اللازمة لإنجاح هذه المبادرات العلمية، مشيدًا بالجهود التي تبذلها الجامعات العراقية لتوسيع شبكة تعاونها الأكاديمي مع المؤسسات التعليمية الماليزية
من جانبه، أشار نائب رئيس الجامعة إلى أن الزيارة تأتي في سياق التحضير لإقامة ورشة عمل حول استخدام تقنيات الذكاء الاصطناعي في المجال الطبي، بالتعاون مع جامعة العلوم الماليزية، والمقرر انعقادها يوم 9 كانون الأول 2025 في بينانغ، معربًا عن تقديره للمستوى العلمي المتقدم الذي تتمتع به الجامعات الماليزية. واختُتم اللقاء بتأكيد الوفد الزائر تقديره للدور الدبلوماسي والعلمي الذي تضطلع به سفارة جمهورية العراق في كوالالمبور والملحقية الثقافية العراقية في دعم المؤسسات الأكاديمية الوطنية وتعزيز التعاون العلمي الدولي
On 8 December 2025, the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur received Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ghanem Wadai, Vice President of Al-Furat Al-Awsat Technical University for Scientific Affairs, along with his accompanying delegation.
The meeting was attended by the Chargé d’Affaires a.i., Minister-Counsellor Ahmed Ghanem Abduljabbar, and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur, Dr. Abduljaleel Mohammed Majeed.
The delegation included senior academic leaders from the university, comprising four deans of technical institutes and two department directors. The meeting discussed prospects for academic and scientific cooperation between Iraqi universities and their Malaysian counterparts, with a focus on research collaboration, academic program development, and strengthening institutional partnerships, contributing to the advancement of higher education and scientific research in Iraq and fostering engagement with international academic experiences.
The Chargé d’Affaires a.i. affirmed the Embassy’s readiness, in coordination with the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, to provide the necessary support and facilitation to ensure the success of these academic initiatives, commending the efforts of Iraqi universities to expand their academic cooperation with Malaysian institutions.
For his part, the Vice President of the University noted that the visit forms part of the preparations for a workshop on the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the medical field, organized in cooperation with Universiti Sains Malaysia, scheduled to be held on 9 December 2025 in Penang, Malaysia. He also expressed his appreciation for the advanced academic standards of Malaysian higher education institutions.
The meeting concluded with the delegation expressing its appreciation for the ongoing diplomatic and academic efforts of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in supporting national academic institutions and strengthening international scientific cooperation.
