The visit of the Iraqi ministerial delegation, accompanied by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur and the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur, to Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) to enhance academic and cultural cooperation
زار الوفد الوزاري العراقي برئاسة مدير عام البحث والتطوير في وزارة التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي، وبرفقة الملحقية الثقافية العراقية، جامعة Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) في ماليزيا، في خطوة لتعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والثقافي بين العراق وماليزيا
خلال الزيارة، التقى الوفد مع رؤساء الأقسام والمعاهد في الجامعة، واستعرضوا فرص التعاون العلمي، البحث المشترك، وتبادل الطلاب. كما تم الاطلاع على مرافق الجامعة البحثية والتقنية والمختبرات المتقدمة التي تقوم فيها الأبحاث في مجال الزراعة، التكنولوجيا، الهندسة، والعلوم البيولوجية
وتضمنت الزيارة جولة ميدانية في المجمعات الأكاديمية والمختبرات، حيث تعرف الوفد على التجهيزات البحثية، البنية التحتية، والمبادرات التي تدعم الابتكار وريادة الأعمال داخل المجتمع الجامعي. كما جرى مناقشة آليات تنفيذ الاتفاقيات المحتملة وتحديد مجالات الأولوية مثل الطاقة المتجددة، الزراعة المستدامة، وتقنيات النانو
وفي إطار هذه الزيارة، التقى الوفد الوزاري عدداً من الطلبة العراقيين الدارسين في الجامعات الماليزية، حيث استمعوا إلى أبرز التحديات والمشاكل التي يواجهونها، وقدموا لهم مجموعة من النصائح والإرشادات التي من شأنها دعم مسيرتهم الدراسية والأكاديمية في ماليزيا
من جهته، أبدى الوفد إعجابه بقدرات UPM البحثية والبنية التحتية المتقدمة، مؤكدين الاستعداد للدخول في شراكات استراتيجية طويلة الأمد تخدم مصالح الجامعتين، وتُسهم في رفع مستوى البحث العلمي في العراق من خلال نقل الخبرة والتطوير المؤسسي.
من جانب الجامعة الماليزية، رحب ممثلو UPM بالوفد العراقي، مؤكدين أن هذه الزيارة تمثل فرصة لتعميق العلاقات البحثية والتعليمية وتعزيز الروابط الأكاديمية بين البلدين، مع التأكيد على أن أبواب الجامعة مفتوحة للتعاون في المشاريع البحثية والابتكارات المشتركة
The Iraqi ministerial delegation, headed by the Director General of Research and Development at the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, accompanied by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, visited Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) as part of efforts to strengthen academic and cultural cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia.
During the visit, the delegation met with heads of departments and institutes at the university and explored opportunities for scientific cooperation, joint research, and student exchange. The delegation was also briefed on UPM’s advanced research and technical facilities, including laboratories specializing in agriculture, technology, engineering, and biological sciences.
The visit included a tour of academic complexes and laboratories, where the delegation observed the university’s research facilities, infrastructure, and initiatives supporting innovation and entrepreneurship within the academic community. Discussions were also held on mechanisms to implement potential agreements and identify priority areas such as renewable energy, sustainable agriculture, and nanotechnology.
As part of this visit, the delegation also met with a group of Iraqi students studying in Malaysian universities, listened to the challenges and issues they face, and provided them with advice and guidance to support their academic journey in Malaysia.
The delegation expressed their admiration for UPM’s research capacities and advanced infrastructure, affirming their readiness to establish long-term strategic partnerships that serve the interests of both institutions and contribute to elevating scientific research in Iraq through knowledge transfer and institutional development.
UPM representatives welcomed the Iraqi delegation, stressing that this visit represents an important opportunity to deepen research and educational relations and enhance academic ties between the two countries, while affirming that the university remains open to cooperation in joint research projects and innovative initiatives.
