في إطار تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والعلمي بين العراق وماليزيا، قام وفد من سفارة جمهورية العراق والملحقية الثقافية في كوالالمبور بزيارة رسمية إلى جامعة الطاقة الوطنية الماليزية (UNITEN) بتاريخ 5 آب 2025.
وخلال اللقاء الرسمي مع رئاسة الجامعة، تم بحث عدد من المحاور المهمة، أبرزها:
دعم الطلبة العراقيين: جرى تبادل وجهات النظر حول آليات تعزيز الدعم للطلبة العراقيين الدارسين حالياً في جامعة الطاقة الوطنية، والبالغ عددهم (196) طالباً في مختلف التخصصات. وقد أكد الجانبان على أهمية تهيئة بيئة أكاديمية مساندة تساهم في تذليل التحديات وضمان نجاح الطلبة.
فرص الزمالات الدراسية: أكدت الملحقية الثقافية تطلعها إلى الحصول على زمالات دراسية مخصصة للطلبة العراقيين عبر الملحقية، بحيث تشمل جميع المراحل الدراسية:
البكالوريوس لدعم الطلبة الجدد الراغبين بالدراسة في الجامعة.
الدراسات العليا (الماجستير والدكتوراه) لتعزيز التخصصات البحثية والعلمية المتقدمة.
زمالات بحثية لما بعد الدكتوراه (Postdoctoral Fellowships) لتطوير التعاون البحثي وتبادل الخبرات الأكاديمية والعلمية بين العراق وماليزيا.
تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي: أكد الطرفان أهمية استمرار العلاقات الأكاديمية عبر تبادل الزيارات العلمية والبحثية، وتنظيم أنشطة مشتركة مثل المؤتمرات وورش العمل والبرامج التدريبية، إضافة إلى مشاريع بحثية مشتركة تخدم أولويات التنمية والتعليم في كلا البلدين.
كما تضمن برنامج الزيارة:
جولة في عدد من المختبرات والورش العلمية المتخصصة في مجال الطاقة والهندسة، حيث اطلع الوفد على الإمكانات البحثية والتجهيزات المتقدمة التي تمتلكها الجامعة.
لقاءً موسعاً مع الطلبة العراقيين الدارسين في الجامعة، استمع خلاله الوفد إلى ملاحظاتهم وتجاربهم، وأشاد بمستوى اندماجهم الأكاديمي.
زيارة إلى المركز الوطني للطاقة (National Energy Center) التابع للجامعة، حيث جرى الاطلاع على المشاريع البحثية والتطويرية التي ينفذها المركز في مجالات الطاقة المتجددة والاستدامة.
وفي ختام الزيارة، أعربت الملحقية الثقافية عن تقديرها العميق لحفاوة الاستقبال من قبل جامعة الطاقة الوطنية الماليزية، مؤكدةً تطلعها إلى تحويل هذه التفاهمات إلى مبادرات عملية تسهم في تعزيز العلاقات الأكاديمية والبحثية بين العراق وماليزيا.

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia, a delegation from the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq and the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur paid an official visit to Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) on 5 August 2025.
During the formal meeting with the university leadership, the following key issues were addressed:
Supporting Iraqi Students: Both sides discussed mechanisms to provide greater support for the 196 Iraqi students currently enrolled at UNITEN, emphasizing the need to create a supportive academic environment that helps them overcome challenges and achieve success.
Scholarship Opportunities: The Cultural Attaché reiterated its strong interest in securing a dedicated quota of scholarships for Iraqi students through the Attaché, covering all academic levels:
Undergraduate programs, to encourage new Iraqi students to pursue their studies at UNITEN.
Postgraduate programs (Master’s and PhD), to enhance advanced training and academic specialization.
Postdoctoral fellowships, to promote collaborative research, innovation, and academic knowledge exchange between UNITEN and Iraqi institutions.
Strengthening Academic Cooperation: Both sides stressed the importance of sustaining momentum in academic relations through faculty and student exchange programs, joint research initiatives, academic mobility, and the co-organization of conferences, workshops, and training activities.
In addition to the official discussions, the program of the visit included:
A tour of UNITEN’s laboratories and specialized workshops, where the delegation explored the university’s advanced facilities and research capabilities in engineering and energy-related fields.
A meeting with Iraqi students currently studying at UNITEN, during which the delegation listened to their experiences and encouraged them to continue excelling in their academic journey.
A visit to the National Energy Center, where the delegation was briefed on UNITEN’s cutting-edge research projects in renewable energy, sustainability, and technological innovation.
The Iraqi Cultural Attaché expressed its sincere appreciation for the warm hospitality extended by UNITEN and reaffirmed its aspiration to transform these discussions into practical initiatives that will foster sustainable academic and research cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia.
