On 28 August 2025<\/strong>, a delegation from the Iraqi Cultural Attach\u00e9 in Kuala Lumpur<\/strong>, led by the Cultural Counsellor, paid an official visit to Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UTP)<\/strong>. The delegation was received by the university\u2019s President and senior leadership members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The visit focused on exploring avenues to strengthen academic and scientific collaboration with Iraqi universities<\/strong>. The delegation emphasized the importance of UTP playing a key role in attracting Iraqi students through the allocation of special scholarships dedicated to Iraq<\/strong>, thereby contributing to educational development and capacity building.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussions also covered mechanisms to activate the \u201cStudy in Iraq\u201d program<\/strong>, as well as the renewed invitation for UTP\u2019s President to visit Iraq<\/strong> and witness firsthand the academic and infrastructural progress achieved by Iraqi universities in recent years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another key topic was the possibility of enrolling Iraqi students in the recently launched Integrated Engineering Program<\/strong>, supported by private sector companies, which offers promising opportunities for both training and career advancement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition, the delegation presented an overview of the vision of Iraq\u2019s Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research regarding the internationalization of higher education<\/strong> and the country\u2019s strong commitment to expanding relations with Malaysia, supported by the highest levels of authority in Iraq across both the economic and higher education sectors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This visit reflects the ongoing efforts of the Iraqi Cultural Attach\u00e9 to expand academic cooperation and create new opportunities for Iraqi students in leading Malaysian universities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
