On Monday, August 25, 2025, the Iraqi Cultural Attach\u00e9 in Kuala Lumpur had the honor of hosting Dato\u2019 Prof. Dr. Mohad Aziral Bin Kassim, former Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Malaysia and the current Vice-Chancellor of Qaiwan International University (QIU) in Sulaymaniyah, Iraq.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He was warmly received by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abdul Jaleel Mohammed Majeed<\/strong>, the Cultural Counsellor, and Dr. Salah Mahdi Khaleel<\/strong>, Administrative Officer at the Attach\u00e9, in the presence of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ali Hadi Jawad Al-Taee<\/strong>, an Iraqi researcher at UiTM Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting focused on exploring the potential for establishing innovative academic programs between Iraqi and Malaysian universities, drawing inspiration from the successful collaboration between UiTM and QIU. Discussions also highlighted ways to strengthen joint scientific and research cooperation, with the aim of building stronger bridges between academic institutions in both countries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Professor Mohad Aziral shared valuable insights from his current experience as Vice-Chancellor in Iraq, particularly his engagement with the country\u2019s rich and diverse cultural landscape. The Cultural Attach\u00e9 expressed its appreciation for his visit and reaffirmed its readiness to support initiatives that promote academic collaboration and student exchange between Iraq and Malaysia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides agreed to maintain close communication and to pursue further engagements, both in Malaysia and Iraq, in order to expand opportunities for academic partnerships that benefit students and researchers alike.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
