The Iraqi Embassy in Kuala Lumpur held a special ceremony on December 11, 2024, to mark the 100th anniversary of the establishment of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to celebrate Victory Day over ISIS and criminal gangs. His excellency<\/strong><\/strong>, The Charg\u00e9 d’Affaires, Mr. Mohammed Faleh, delivered a speech on behalf of the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, highlighting the significant role of Iraqi diplomacy over the past century.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his speech, Mr. Faleh praised the Ministry\u2019s efforts since the fall of the Baath regime in 2003 in fostering Iraq’s stability within the Middle East. He also highlighted tangible improvements such as economic growth and Iraq\u2019s enhanced international standing through membership in numerous international organizations and institutions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr. Faleh also commended the efforts of cultural and diplomatic missions affiliated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in promoting a positive image of modern Iraq, strengthening national identity, attracting Iraqi expertise, and encouraging international investment across various sectors.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

His excellency paid tribute to the heroic actions of Iraqi security forces in combating ISIS, emphasizing the critical role of national unity in achieving this landmark victory. The sacrifices of Iraqi martyrs were also honored for their contributions to the country\u2019s current security and stability.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the ceremony, the Iraqi Cultural Attach\u00e9 congratulated the embassy staff on the centenary of Iraqi diplomacy and Victory Day.
