A joint delegation from the Iraqi Cultural Attach\u00e9 and the AL-Iraqa University  visited Heriot-Watt University in Malaysia on July 26, 2024. The visiting delegation consisted of Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam N. Lafta, Cultural Counselor at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq, Professor Dr. Khamis Awad Zaidan, Vice President of the Al-Iraqia University for Scientific Affairs and Director of the International Relations Department at the Al-Iraqia University, and an Academic Advisor at the Iraqi Cultural Attach\u00e9 in Kuala Lumpur.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The delegation was received by Professor Dr. Mushtaq Al-Attabi, CEO and \u00a0Provost\u00a0<\/strong> of Heriot-Watt University in Malaysia. An official meeting was held on this occasion to discuss avenues of cooperation between the two universities and explore investment opportunities in the Iraqi higher education environment. This is in line with the recent directives of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to seek high-level international partners to transfer successful educational experiences to the higher education models adopted in Iraq.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Discussions also covered matters of direct cooperation and the importance of supporting initiatives that link Iraqi universities with prestigious universities around the world. At the end of the meeting, commemorative photos were taken, gifts were exchanged, and there was an emphasis on the importance of maintaining communication between the two parties to ensure the implementation of efforts aimed at expanding scientific and academic cooperation.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n
