في أجواء تسودها الروح الأكاديمية والثقافية، استضاف البيت الثقافي العراقي في سفارة جمهورية العراق بكوالالمبور، لقاءً بارزًا جمع السيد الدكتور حيدر عبد ضهد، وكيل وزير التعليم العالي والبحث العلمي لشؤون البحث العلمي والتعاون الدولي، بنخبة من الكفاءات العراقية العاملة في ماليزيا بحضور ممثل عن السفارة العراقية اضافة الى كادر الملحقية الثقافية العراقية. اللقاء الذي عقد يوم الأربعاء الموافق الأول من مايو 2024، يأتي ضمن سلسلة من الجهود المبذولة لتعزيز العلاقات الأكاديمية والثقافية ولبحث سبل استقطاب الكفاءات العراقية في الخارج لدعم التنمية الأكاديمية والبحثية في العراق.

خلال اللقاء، عبر السيد الوكيل عن التزام الوزارة بتعزيز العلاقات الثقافية والأكاديمية بين العراق وماليزيا، مؤكداً على أهمية التعاون البناء والاستفادة من الخبرات العراقية المميزة المتواجدة في ماليزيا. وقد تطرق إلى الاستراتيجية التي تتبناها الوزارة لإشراك هذه الكفاءات بشكل مباشر في التطوير الأكاديمي والبحثي بالجامعات العراقية.

وشدد الدكتور حيدر على أهمية الدور الذي يمكن أن تلعبه الكفاءات العراقية في الخارج بوصفهم جسوراً لنقل المعرفة والخبرات الدولية، مما يسهم في رفع مستوى البحث العلمي والتعليم العالي في العراق. وأشار إلى أن الوزارة تسعى لتسهيل الشراكات بين الجامعات العراقية والماليزية من خلال مبادرات متعددة تشمل تبادل الطلبة والأساتذة والبحوث المشتركة.

خلال الجلسة، تمت مناقشة عدة مواضيع مهمة مثل آليات دعم الطلبة العراقيين في ماليزيا، وتطوير برامج لتبادل الخبرات والتقنيات الحديثة في مجالات البحث العلمي. كما تطرق الحاضرون إلى أهمية إقامة ورش عمل ومؤتمرات مشتركة تعزز من التواصل العلمي والثقافي بين البلدين.

في ختام اللقاء، قام السيد الوكيل بالإعلان عن تشكيل فريق عمل يضم عدداً من الكفاءات العراقية في ماليزيا للعمل مع الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور. وتم التأكيد على أن هذا الفريق سيعقد اجتماعات دورية لمتابعة تنفيذ المبادرات والبرامج المقترحة، وذلك بهدف تحقيق أقصى استفادة من الخبرات والكفاءات العراقية لدعم التطور الأكاديمي والبحثي في العراق.

وقد تميز اللقاء بحضور لافت من اكاديمين عراقيين عن مختلف الجامعات والمؤسسات التعليمية الماليزية، مما عكس الاهتمام المتزايد بتعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والثقافي بين البلدين. وفي النهاية، تم التقاط الصور التذكارية التي توثق هذا اللقاء الهام، معبرة عن الروابط القوية والآفاق المستقبلية للتعاون بين العراق وماليزيا.

In an atmosphere filled with academic and cultural spirit, the Iraqi Cultural House at the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur hosted a significant meeting that brought together Mr. Dr. Haider Abd Dahad, Deputy Minister for Scientific Research and International Cooperation of Higher Education, with a group of elite Iraqi academics working in Malaysia with presence of representative from Iraqi embassy and the cultural attaché staff. Held on Wednesday, May 1, 2024, the meeting is part of a series of efforts aimed at enhancing academic and cultural relations and exploring ways to attract Iraqi academics abroad to support academic and research development in Iraq.

During the meeting, the Deputy Minister expressed the ministry’s commitment to enhancing cultural and academic relations between Iraq and Malaysia, emphasizing the importance of constructive cooperation, and leveraging the distinguished Iraqi expertise present in Malaysia. He discussed the strategy adopted by the ministry to directly involve these talented academics in the academic and research development at Iraqi universities.

Prof. Dr. Haider highlighted the significant role that Iraqi academics abroad can play as bridges for transferring knowledge and international expertise, contributing to the enhancement of scientific research and higher education in Iraq. He pointed out that the ministry is keen on facilitating partnerships between Iraqi and Malaysian universities through various initiatives including student and faculty exchanges and joint research.

The session covered several important topics such as mechanisms to support Iraqi students in Malaysia and developing programs for the exchange of expertise and modern technologies in the field of scientific research. The participants also discussed the importance of hosting joint workshops and conferences to enhance scientific and cultural communication between the two countries.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Deputy Minister directed to formation of a working group consisting of several Iraqi academics in Malaysia to work with the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur. It was emphasized that this team would hold regular meetings to monitor the implementation of proposed initiatives and programs, aiming to maximize the benefit from Iraqi expertise to support academic and research development in Iraq.

The meeting was notably attended by Iraqi academics from many Malaysian universities and educational institutions, reflecting the growing interest in enhancing academic and cultural cooperation between the two countries. In the end, commemorative photos were taken to immortalize this significant meeting, symbolizing the strong ties and prospects for cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia.
