في خطوة تعكس التوجه نحو تعزيز التعاون الأكاديمي والبحثي بين العراق وماليزيا، وقّعت جامعة الإمام جعفر الصادق العراقية مذكرة تفاهم مع جامعة صنواي الماليزية، بهدف توطيد الروابط العلمية والأكاديمية بين المؤسستين في يوم الخميس الموافق 23 يناير 2025، بحضور ومشاركة الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور في مراسم توقيع مذكرة التفاهم بين جامعة الإمام جعفر الصادق العراقية وجامعة سنواي الماليزية، والتي جرت في مقر جامعة سنواي. وقد شهدت المراسم حضور وفد رفيع من السفارة العراقية والملحقية الثقافية العراقية، بالإضافة إلى الكادر المتقدم في جامعة الإمام جعفر الصادق ووفد كبير برئاسة السيد رئيس جامعة سنواي.
تهدف مذكرة التفاهم إلى تعزيز الروابط العلمية والأكاديمية بين الجامعتين، من خلال التعاون في مجالات البحث العلمي والنشر المشترك والمنح الدراسية المتنوعة، بالإضافة إلى العديد من المجالات الأخرى التي سيتم بحثها لاحقاً ضمن إطار تنفيذ مذكرة التفاهم بين الطرفين.

وتهدف الاتفاقية إلى تعزيز سبل التعاون في مجالات البحث العلمي، والنشر المشترك، وتبادل الخبرات الأكاديمية، وتوفير منح دراسية متنوعة، بالإضافة إلى بحث مجالات أخرى للتعاون المستقبلي في إطار تنفيذ المذكرة.
وأكد ممثلو الجامعتين خلال حفل التوقيع أن هذه الشراكة ستسهم في تطوير مستوى التعليم العالي، من خلال تبادل المعرفة والخبرات بين الكوادر التدريسية والطلاب، فضلًا عن الاستفادة من الإمكانيات البحثية المتاحة لدى الطرفين. كما شددوا على أن مثل هذه الاتفاقيات تعد جسرًا لتعزيز العلاقات الأكاديمية والثقافية بين الدول، مما يسهم في توسيع آفاق التعاون العلمي والتعليمي بين العراق وماليزيا.
يُذكر أن جامعة صنواي الماليزية تُعد من المؤسسات التعليمية الرائدة في ماليزيا، وتتميز ببرامجها الأكاديمية المتطورة، فيما تحظى جامعة الإمام جعفر الصادق العراقية بمكانة مرموقة على المستوى المحلي والدولي، وتسعى بشكل مستمر إلى تطوير شراكات أكاديمية دولية تعزز من جودة التعليم والبحث العلمي.

In a step reflecting the commitment to enhancing academic and research collaboration between Iraq and Malaysia, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University (Iraq) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sunway University (Malaysia) to strengthen scientific and academic ties between the two institutions on Thursday, January 23, 2025, with the presence of the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur to the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University (IJSU) and Sunway University, held at Sunway University’s campus. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished delegation from the Iraqi Embassy, the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, senior officials from Imam Ja’afar Al-Sadiq University, and a large delegation led by the President of Sunway University.
The MoU aims to strengthen scientific and academic ties between the two universities, with collaboration in areas such as scientific research, joint publications, various scholarships, and other areas that will be explored further as the MoU is implemented between the two parties.

During the signing ceremony, representatives from both universities emphasized that this partnership will contribute to the advancement of higher education, facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise between faculty members and students while leveraging the research capabilities of both institutions. They also highlighted that such agreements serve as a bridge for strengthening academic and cultural relations between nations, fostering broader scientific and educational cooperation between Iraq and Malaysia.
It is worth noting that Sunway University is one of Malaysia’s leading educational institutions, known for its advanced academic programs. Meanwhile, Imam Jaafar Al-Sadiq University enjoys a distinguished reputation both locally and internationally and continuously seeks to develop international academic partnerships to enhance the quality of education and scientific research.
