انطلقت في العاصمة الماليزية كوالالمبور أعمال المؤتمر الدولي الثاني للتنمية المستدامة، الذي جرى بالتعاون بين جامعة الموصل وجامعة USM الماليزية، للفترة من 15-16 تموز 2024. وحضر المؤتمر ممثلون عن الملحقية الثقافية العراقية، بما في ذلك السيدة المستشار الثقافي الأستاذ المساعد دكتور أحلام نعمة لفته، والموظف الإداري دكتور صلاح مهدي خليل.
شهد المؤتمر حضور العديد من الباحثين الدوليين من ماليزيا، تايلاند، العراق، عمان، إضافة إلى مشاركة العديد من الباحثين عبر الفضاء الإلكتروني من العراق ومن دول العالم. وشارك في افتتاح المؤتمر الأستاذ الدكتور أحلام نعمة لفته، الملحق الثقافي في ماليزيا، والأستاذ الدكتور منير سالم طه، المساعد العلمي لرئيس جامعة الموصل، والوفد المرافق له، بالإضافة إلى مساعد رئيس جامعة USM الماليزية.
استهل حفل الافتتاح بعزف للنشيد الوطني لكل من ماليزيا والعراق ونشيد الجامعتين، تلتها كلمة جامعة الموصل ألقاها المساعد العلمي لرئيس الجامعة. ومن الجدير بالذكر أن أعمال المؤتمر ستستمر لمدة يومين، وأن عدد البحوث التي تم قبولها في المؤتمر بلغ 47 بحثاً، سيتم نشر العديد منها في مجلات في مستوعب سكوبس، بينما سينشر البعض الآخر في مجلات محلية وعالمية.

The 2nd International Conference on Sustainable Development, organized in collaboration between the University of Mosul and the USM University of Malaysia, kicked off in Kuala Lumpur from July 15-16, 2024. The conference saw the presence of representatives from the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, including Cultural Advisor Assistant Professor Dr. Ahlam Naama Lafta and Administrative Officer Dr. Salah Mahdi Khalil.
The conference was attended by many international researchers from Malaysia, Thailand, Iraq, Oman, as well as many researchers participating online from Iraq and around the world. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Ahlam N. Lafta, Cultural Attaché in Malaysia, Dr. Munir Salem Taha, Scientific Assistant to the President of the University of Mosul, and his accompanying delegation, as well as the Assistant President of USM University of Malaysia.
The opening ceremony began with the national anthems of both Malaysia and Iraq, followed by the anthems of the two universities, and a speech from the University of Mosul delivered by the Scientific Assistant to the President. It is noteworthy that the conference will continue for two days, and the number of accepted research papers in the conference reached 47, with many to be published in Scopus-indexed journals and others in local and international journals.
