استقبل السيد القائم بالأعمال في السفارة العراقية في كوالالمبور الأستاذ محمد فالح حمود، وبرفقته السيد الملحق الثقافي العراقي الأستاذ المساعد الدكتور عبد الجليل محمد مجيد، يوم الخميس الموافق 30/5/2025، وفداً رسمياً من ولاية ترينجانو الماليزية ضم عدداً من المسؤولين رفيعي المستوى، من بينهم مدير إدارة تنمية الإسلام بترينجانو (Jabatan Pembangunan Islam Negeri Terengganu)، ونائب مدير التعليم في مؤسسة ترينجانو (Yayasan Terengganu)، وعدد من كبار المسؤولين المعنيين بمجالات التعليم والمنح الدراسية.
وجرى خلال اللقاء بحث سبل تطوير التعاون الأكاديمي والثقافي بين المؤسسات التعليمية في العراق وولاية ترينجانو، وذلك ضمن إطار مبادرة «ادرس في العراق»، التي تهدف إلى استقطاب الطلبة الماليزيين للدراسة في الجامعات العراقية بمختلف التخصصات.
كما تم التطرق إلى إمكانية توقيع مذكرات تفاهم مستقبلية بين الجامعات العراقية والمؤسسات التعليمية في ترينجانو، وتبادل الزيارات الأكاديمية، وتنظيم برامج مشتركة تخدم الطلبة من كلا البلدين. وأكد الجانبان أهمية تعزيز التفاهم الثقافي والحضاري بما ينعكس إيجاباً على مسيرة التعاون العلمي والتبادل الطلابي.
وفي ختام اللقاء، أعرب الوفد الماليزي عن تقديره لحفاوة الاستقبال واهتمام السفارة والملحقية الثقافية العراقية بتطوير هذه المبادرات الأكاديمية، مشيدين بالدور الذي تلعبه المؤسسات العراقية في دعم الطلبة الدوليين.

On Thursday, 30 May 2025, the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Iraq in Kuala Lumpur Mr. Mohammed Faleh Hamood, accompanied by the Iraqi Cultural Attaché, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Abduljaleel Mohammed Majeed, received an official high-level delegation from the state of Terengganu, Malaysia. The delegation included the Director of the Terengganu Islamic Development Department (Jabatan Pembangunan Islam Negeri Terengganu), the Deputy Director of Education at Yayasan Terengganu, and several senior officials responsible for education and scholarship programs.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed ways to enhance academic and cultural cooperation between Iraqi educational institutions and those in Terengganu, particularly through the “Study in Iraq” initiative. This program aims to attract Malaysian students to pursue their higher education across various fields at Iraqi universities.
The discussions also covered the possibility of signing future Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between Iraqi universities and educational bodies in Terengganu, organizing mutual academic visits, and launching joint programs that benefit students from both countries. Both parties emphasized the importance of strengthening cultural and academic understanding, which would positively contribute to student exchange and collaborative research.
At the end of the meeting, the Malaysian delegation expressed their appreciation for the warm reception and for the efforts of the Iraqi Embassy and Cultural Attaché in fostering such academic initiatives, praising the role of Iraqi institutions in supporting international students.
