زار وفد مشترك من الملحقية الثقافية العراقية في كوالالمبور والجامعة العراقية جامعة سنواي الماليزية في يوم 26 يوليو 2024. تألف الوفد من الأستاذ الدكتور خميس عواد زيدان، مساعد رئيس الجامعة العراقية للشؤون العلمية، وعمداء كليات الهندسة وطب الأسنان والقانون والعلوم الإسلامية، ومدير قسم العلاقات الدولية في الجامعة العراقية. كما مثل الملحقية الثقافية العراقية الدكتور صلاح مهدي خليل، الموظف الإداري.
كان في استقبال الوفد الرئيس التنفيذي للجامعة البروفسوردكتور ماهيندران اس نائر ,والبروفسور دكتور ابهي فيرموماسهران المدير التنفيذي للجامعة وعمداء كليات الهندسة والتربية والعلوم، بالإضافة إلى مدراء الأقسام الإدارية في الجامعة. كما حضر اللقاء الأستاذ الدكتور علي محفوظ، التدريسي في قسم الهندسة المدنية، والدكتور إبراهيم خسرو، التدريسي في كلية الهندسة بجامعة سنواي.
خلال الزيارة، تم عقد لقاء موسع تضمن عروضاً تقديمية من قبل الجامعتين، حيث تم شرح رؤية وزارة التعليم العالي العراقية وتوجهاتها نحو الانفتاح على الجامعات العالمية الرصينة، بالإضافة إلى مبادرة “ادرس في العراق”. تلا ذلك نقاش حول أوجه التعاون الممكنة بين جامعة سنواي والجامعة العراقية، مع التركيز على إمكانية عقد شراكات في برامج محددة قابلة للتنفيذ لتعزيز التعاون بين الجامعتين.
في ختام اللقاء، تم التأكيد على أهمية استمرار التواصل وتعزيز هذه الانطلاقة من خلال عقد لقاءات أخرى لوضع ما تم الاتفاق عليه في إطار تنفيذي خلال الفترة القريبة القادمة. وقد تم بهذه المناسبة التقاط الصور التذكارية وتبادل الهدايا بين الجانبين.

On July 26, 2024, a joint delegation from the Iraqi Cultural Attaché in Kuala Lumpur and the Al-Iraqia University visited Sunway University in Malaysia. The delegation consisted of Professor Dr. Khamis Awad Zaidan, Assistant President for Scientific Affairs at the Al-Iraqia University, along with the Deans of the Colleges of Engineering, Dentistry, Law, and Islamic Sciences, and the Director of the International Relations Department at the Al-Iraqia University. The Iraqi Cultural Attaché- Embassy of Iraq was represented by Dr. Salah Mahdi Khaleel, the Academic advisor.
The delegation was received by the Prof. Dr. Mahendhiran S. Nair the Pro Vice – Chancellor of Sunway University and Prof Dr. Abhi Veerakumarasivam the Provost of Sunway University, along with the Deans of the Colleges of Engineering, Education, and Sciences, as well as administrative department heads. Also present were Professor Dr. Ali Mahfoudh, a senior lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering, and Dr. Ibrahim Khusro, also a lecturer assistance in the College of Engineering at Sunway University.
During the visit, an extensive meeting was held that included presentations from both universities. The meeting provided a detailed explanation of the Iraqi Ministry of Higher Education’s vision and its orientation towards engaging with prestigious international universities, including the “Study in Iraq” initiative. Discussions followed, focusing on potential areas of cooperation between Sunway University and the Al-Iraqia University, with an emphasis on forming partnerships in specific, implementable programs to enhance collaboration between the two universities.
At the conclusion of the meeting, it was emphasized that communication should continue, and this initial collaboration should be strengthened through additional meetings to frame the agreements in executable frameworks in the near future. The occasion was marked by the exchange of commemorative photos and gifts between the two sides.
